On 5th of February, 2016 in polish town Lodz Mutaz Barshim gained victory over Andriy Protsenko acording to attempts. Pole Kamila Licwinko equalled the world-leading mark of 1.97m.
Content for the first place began reigning world indoors champion Qatari Mutaz Barshim on the mark 2.29. Both Protsenko and Баршим passed this milestone from the second try. Unfortunately, next height (233 cm - entry standard for following participation in World Indoor Championship) wasn`t achieved and, as a result, Qatari gained the possibility to be on the top of the podium because of less number of unsuccessful attempts . Third position with a result of 220 cm won World Championship 2009 bronze medallist Pole Sylwester Bednarek.
Deriving encouragement from fans, Pole Kamila Licwinko gained victory in section of high jumps among women. Faultlessly achieving the heights of 188, 191, after second try Kamila repeated the best world season result (197), which have been recently established by Lithuanian sportsman Airine Palsyte. Than Pole showed not bad attempts on height of 2 metres, but none of them was successful. Let`s remind that fact that previous year Kamila was world season leader, having set up the national record with a result of 2.02. The second place gained Spaniard Ruth Beitia, showing the 194 cm result. The third place took Polish sportsman Urszula Gardzielewska (188cm).
